All Hail the Kings of Leon
Itís been some time since weíve been treated to good Southern Fried Rock ñ so we welcome, with open arms, the Kings of Leon. Like the Allmans and Lynyrd Skynyrd before them, the Kings of Leon stick to family: the band comprises the three Followill brothers and their first cousin, who all hail from Nashville (also home to one of my favorite singer/songwriters Josh Rouse ñ but more on him soon). Their blend of hard-driving, stoner rock and Downtown New York garage rock appeals to people on both sides of the Mason-Dixon line as well as the other side of the pond. You know these guys must kick ass because Bono and company handpicked them to open up their upcoming North American Vertigo Tour. Their second album, ìAha Shake Heartbreak,î hits stores February 22, but their first single, ìThe Bucket,î can be heard exclusively on iTunes
