Bicycle Film Festival 2010

The two-wheeled film fest turns 10 with a pyrotechnic trailer

Wheeling its way from Austin to Zurich this year, the Bicycle Film Festival enters a decade of bringing films, music and art to bike enthusiasts around the world.

Marco Mucig, BFF art director, directed this year’s festival trailer again. With visual effects by David Lucas Vivaldini, dexterous cyclists ride and stunt in a pyrotechnic celebration—some bikes rigged with fireworks—culminating in a daredevil leap through a ring-of-fire. Neo-disco Italian group Scuola Furano provides the whimsical soundtrack.

BFF starts up in NYC with the accompanying annual gallery show “Joyride” on 17 June 2010 (a must-see, this year’s line-up includes Agathe Snow, Albert Maysles, David Ellis, Leo Fitzpatrick, Taliah Lempert, Tim Barber, and WK Interact) and the films begin 18-20 June 2010, with a world premier of “Empire.” Hit up its website for showtimes, ticket information and other dates.
