“Blurred Lines’” $7.4m Verdict

Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke will have to pay the children of Marvin Gaye $7.4 million after a jury found the 2013 smash-hit “Blurred Lines” to be too similar to Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up.” This is just the latest incident tied to the widely controversial song (and music video) by Thicke and Williams, which has earned the two singers millions of dollars since its release. The verdict could face lengthy appeals aka the “blurred lines” of justice.
