Carly Rae Jepsen: Runaways
Master of pop music Carly Rae Jepsen has released what appears to be a track she wrote for the animated film “Leap!” (for which she also offered the excellent “Cut to the Feeling”). “Runaways” isn’t like most of her previous tunes. Rather than embracing upbeat, glittery pop sensibilities, it’s a piano-based ballad about leaving everybody and everything behind… until your existence is wrapped up in just one person. Melancholy and pretty, it’s an interesting angle from Jepsen—and clearly a success.
