Google’s Move Regarding Revenge Porn

In the latest episode of “Last Week Tonight,” John Oliver takes on revenge porn, pointing out that while “the internet has become integral to modern life… it’s also become a haven for harassment” that many women encounter on a daily basis. Recently, Google has taken steps to remove revenge porn from its search results, offering an online form where victims can go to request their photos be removed. While Google’s move is a small step, Oliver has thrown his support behind the Intimate Privacy Protection Act of 2015, which would make revenge porn illegal in all 50 states.
