New Dwarf Planet Discovered

Many space enthusiasts feel sorry for Pluto: it was reclassified as a dwarf planet and even used as a verb—”to pluto” something is to devalue and downgrade it. But new evidence suggests Pluto isn’t so sad after all—it has a friend. The recently discovered planet, named RR245, is in the Kuiper Belt (a region beyond Neptune that’s populated by icy objects) and orbits the sun once every 700 Earth years. RR245 is further away than Pluto and scientists aren’t sure of its mass yet, but are guessing it’s about 435 miles wide.
