Celebrate 420 in Style

Some of our favorite innovative, creative and sophisticated cannabis-related products

Now that all but four states in the USA have legalized cannabis in some form, discussion around it continues at a never-before-seen pace. From its benefits (pain relief, easing anxiety and more) to racial/political issues (according to New York State’s Division of Criminal Justice Services, 86% of New Yorkers arrested for low-level marijuana possession are black and hispanic), and the new industry’s explosion, there’s a lot to unpack. Being a cannabis enthusiast is a multi-faceted existence these days. That said, the ever-evolving industry has led to new products that are innovative, sophisticated, creative and full of good vibes. We have rounded up some of our favorites for this year’s 4/20 celebration.

Cannabis-Infused Petra Mints

Kiva Confections’ sugar-free Moroccan mints ($15) blend peppermint and a tad of Tahitian vanilla with California-grown cannabis. The precise 2.5mg micro-dosage per mint allows users substantial control over their experience. And, with the addition of green tea matcha, these refresh the spirit as much as the breath. Right now, this product is only available in California.

“High Notes” T-Shirt and Candle

Just in time for 4/20, MALIN+GOETZ and NYC’s La Ligne have teamed up for a cannabis-themed candle and T-shirt set ($190) that’s for the sophisticated but playful toker. The candle’s herbaceous fragrance blends with oakmoss, pepper, sandalwood, patchouli and more for a scent that’s spicy without being over the top. As the for the T-shirt, it’s La Ligne’s classic ringer tee with deep green collar and cuffs and the words “sticky icky” embroidered in the corner. A little impish and a little elegant, the set is made with all genders in mind.

Calaveras Custom Hybrid Strain + High-Tech Pen

Socially responsible medical cannabis company Bloom Farms has partnered with Uncrate for a collaboration ($100) of epic proportions. First, there’s the striking black pen with gunmetal accents. It features an integrated ceramic heating element for clean vapor and a stainless steel enclosure. The oil is a 50/50 custom hybrid known as Calaveras—blending the creativity enhancing Jack Herer strain and the pain combatting ACDC strain. It’s refined, lab-tested and design forward.

Rainbow Papers

Embrace the psychedelic days of yesteryear with these deadstock rolling papers ($10) from Sweetflag. The vintage design, full of swirling rainbows, is from Spain—and each showcases a slightly different pattern. Measuring 1.4 inches wide, they’re ideal for all toking needs.

Sweetleaf Crewneck

Continuing her Sweetleaf range, jewelry and apparel designer Jacquie Aiche has a line of sweatshirts and hoodies that highlight one’s affection for the greenery. Our pick is the charcoal crewneck ($175), with a black leaf on the chest and metallic blue flowering eye on the sleeve. Available from XS to XL, they’re made in California for all genders.

Silver Rolled Smoke Keychain

Made for keeping your pre-rolled joints fresh and tidy (as well as discreet) this unassuming silver keychain ($20) is essentially a lidded, hollow tube. With a gold tip, and measuring just over three inches long, it’s a sophisticated accessory for on-the-move tokers and subtle enough to keep prying eyes to a minimum.

Scent-Blocking Pouch

Handcrafted in NYC from premium leather, this limited edition leather pouch ($178) by ASCHE and Blunted Objects was designed especially for carrying cannabis—and its related accoutrements—as it comes with a detachable, magnetized scent-blocking mini pouch inside. While luxuriant and does prevent odor from escaping, it doesn’t exactly keep treasures hidden away discreetly, as there’s a nod to what’s inside the clutch via a golden leaf zipper—and an allusion through one of the brands’ names.

Jetlag First Aid

From staying up late, drinking heavily, popping melatonin, sipping chamomile tea and more—there are countless theories on how to avoid jet lag. But this Jetlag First Aid remedy ($18), made from avenia sativa, ginko bilboa, skullcap and more, is a plant-based formulation made to reset and refresh circadian balance. It also relaxes the body, so even if you can’t sleep, you’ll feel rested.

Circulating Leg + Foot Creme

With capsaicin, ginger and grapefruit botanical extracts paired with a substantial cannabis infusion, Apothecanna’s circulation cream ($60) warms muscles and relieves inflammation. This anti-inflammatory potion reinvigorates limbs by stimulating blood flow. With a citrus and spiced scent, it also stimulates the nose. A great product from one of our favorite brands in the sector.

Pre-Rolls

Made with super-thin paper, Pure Beauty’s pre-rolls ($40) are very discrete—appearing like a regular cigarette, save for the cheeky side-eye motif. Available in each of the brand’s signature strains, developed in California, each pack holds five .70g premium cannabis flower pre-rolls.

Jerry Garcia Limited Edition Coloring Book

Be it a tidal wave or a banyan tree, a “space container” and more, the hand-drawn and painted works of Jerry Garcia come to life again in Terrapin Stationers’ limited edition coloring book ($20). There are eight Garcia works that can be colored any which way—and all of them leave substantial room for the imagination. Printed in West Haven, CT, it’s an adult coloring book for a Grateful Dead super-fan or anyone looking to expand their mind. Matching colored pencil set also available.

Marne Necklace

Creators of high-end apparel, P.A.R.O.S.H. also has a strong passion for reimagining vintage clothing and accessories. The Marne necklace ($220)—made in Italy from acetate and metal—is a playful take on love beads, with a little rosary influence. The colorful, mismatched beads enhance almost any outfit, and the leaf is available in green, red or (our pick) a very bright blue.
