Bellissima! The Italian Automotive Renaissance: 1945 to 1975

A book full of the most rare, collectible and stunning cars and motorcycles from the post–World War II era

Even if you’re not a gung-ho car enthusiast, the new hardcover tome “Bellissima! The Italian Automotive Renaissance: 1945 to 1975” (published by Skira Rizzoli) is a breathtaking, alluring book. The pages inside are full of the most rare, collectible and striking vehicles from companies (including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo and others) made during Italy’s “il miracolo economico” (the economic miracle) which occurred in the years after WWII. Some of the country’s most iconic designs—from fashion to furniture—were created in this era, and cars and motorcycles were certainly no exception. Futuristic, exaggerated and beguiling, these cars were built for a very small number of privileged people, but with this book, everybody can be seduced and amazed by the wild designs. If you didn’t already have a vintage car obsession, this book might kick yours off.

Releasing 17 May, “Bellissima! The Italian Automotive Renaissance: 1945 to 1975” is available for pre-order from Rizzoli and Amazon for $45.
