CH Omakase 2017: Herman Miller Color Consultation and Living Office Furniture
Two extraordinary, exclusive services resulting in a home and office reimagined
We relish any opportunity to work with the Herman Miller brand. We use their products on a daily basis at CH HQ. As editors, our relationship began as curious consumers and evolved to frequent interviewers and explorers of the tremendous history. When approaching the Herman Miller team about partnering on Omakase, we realized that we wanted to introduce our customers to the humans behind the brand just as much as their exemplary products. Thus, two private sessions were offered; one with Creative Director Greg Parsons and another with with Laura Guido-Clark, Creative Director of Materials. Each session will result in custom furniture and a personalized and specifically-outfitted home or office set-up.
Living Office is a combination of smart furniture and software that analyzes user environment and provides actionable information. With Parsons, our clients’ sessions will be aimed at understanding how they work and what they need to adjust in order to construct a space that emphasizes effectiveness—built with these Living Office pieces. We’ve provided all with a year’s subscription to Live OS, the digital system that provides users with insight on their work habits. And with the help of Parsons, these clients will receive the Live Renew Sit-to-Stand Desk and the next generation of Live Aeron chair. These items communicate with one another, and both adjust in accordance to user’s wishes.
The session with Guido-Clark employs a different type of personalization. Clients will bring a sound, scent, texture, words or anything that provides them inspiration. Guido-Clark, over the course of an hour, will then develop a custom Love Good Color palettes, which will be used in creating a custom-finished Herman Miller product for that Omakase client. Guido-Clark’s studies of color enable her to gage their impact on emotions and environment. With a custom palette, anyone can maximize the power of their moods, emotions and dreams.
