CH Omakase 2017: Walter & Moretti Shade Lamp
A first edition of 15, made in France, from a company reborn
CH founders Josh Rubin and Evan Orensten found an original Shade lamp in Stockholm in 2000. They tried for years to learn more about the brand, which produced a small number of objects in limited quantities between 1968 and 1973. Fast forward many years and a coincidental encounter with Olivier Oksman—the current owner of and designer at Walter & Moretti—resulted in a collaboration. Together, for CH Omakase, we’ve released one of the first products in 44 years from the brand, the new Shade lamp made in an exclusive edition of 15. It’s the first stage in the company’s rebirth—and a lighting icon reborn. We look forward to other developments from Oksman’s vision, where the past, present and future align.
