Conran Shop Launches New Music Selection

Adding film soundtracks, debut albums and treasured LPs to their design mix

The Conran Shop’s selection of

desirable furniture (including their own in-house brand, which finds inspiration in the spirit of Brazil this season) down to unique, easy-on-the-wallet kitchenware will have you furiously drafting dream home Pinterest boards, stat. While the design store also has a well-rounded culture section dedicated to magazines, books, even headphones and playful gear like Teenage Engineering’s pocket synthesizers, actual records have been conspicuously absent—until today. Their new music selection launches with a smattering of film soundtracks, debut albums from Hinds and Maribou State, to Björk and David Bowie—in CD and LP form. The most intriguing find might be One, a concept album “imagining the sound of British summertime as heard by one of the most important members of the animal kingdom—the bee.”

“We hope to inspire our customers and introduce them to both emerging and established artists they may not have come across,” The Conran Shop buying team officially states. “There are quintessential albums and contemporary soundtracks that reference popular culture; the rest we hope are unexpected gems and future classics.” In addition to their locations in London, Paris and Japan, The Conran Shop also has an online store—fair warning, it will be difficult to get any work done once you start browsing.
