The F-Word at STORY

Celebrate International Women’s Day at the Chelsea concept store

A shop delivered in issues like a magazine, NYC’s latest STORY (which launches today at their Chelsea location) is “The F-Word.” Opening on International Women’s Day, the concept store’s current collection was carefully selected in order to spark conversation around ideas and beliefs regarding modern-day feminism—in its many forms. With themes ranging from Family to Fair Trade and Feeling Confident, the products are as varied as NYC women themselves, with items including Elvie‘s app-controlled kegel trainer to feminist film zine Filmme Fatales to books by Michelle Obama, Malala Yousafzai and Gloria Steinem.

The space itself has also been given a makeover, courtesy of talented women. While Brooklyn-based author and illustrator (who will launch her book “A Mother is a Story” at the store) Samantha Hahn has adorned the walls with her striking watercolor artworks and hand-lettering, the space itself was designed by Suchi Reddy—founder of the award-winning Reddymade Studio.

As always, this edition of STORY is accompanied by a series of events, including a Pitch Night for makers and designers with HSN CEO Mindy Grossman. STORY is located at 144 10th Ave, on the corner of 19th St.
