Though the stalwarts of the publishing world continue to release works worth reading, it’s Berlin-based Gestalten that earned our near-constant attention in 2014 with countless impressive volumes published under their name. Yet, their most recent release lacks pages entirely. The Gestalten + Pulpo Oda Light is a limited edition of the glass and steel stand lamp designed by German designer Sebastian Herkner for furniture manufacturer Pulpo. The lamp’s unique shape—which includes a hand-blown glass corpus done in an exclusive Aurora Red colorway, atop a simple four-legged metal base—is directly inspired by a series of water tower photographs shot by famed photographers Bernd and Hilla Becher.

Available in three different sizes—1400 mm, 850 mm or 450 mm tall—the warm Oda light works just as well as an inviting table light or standing floor lamp. As per the limited edition, Oda is available in the Aurora Red tone with a powder-coated matte black metal stand and sells from Gestalten for $1,772 regardless of size.
