As the days tick away until this year’s Milan Design Week, running 9-13 April 2013, we’re looking forward to our Designer Master Classes and a slew of other design events to be held at Heineken‘s collaborative space, The Magazzini. Located next to the Porta Genova tram station adjacent to the Zona Tortona, the space will be open daily while playing host to a series of workshops and design talks taking place during Aperitivo time from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. The series of daily events will be led by The Magazzini’s partners, including Cool Hunting, creative network PechaKucha, graphic designer Joshua Davis, English design organization Designersblock, multidisciplinary artist Matt W. Moore and Dutch design platform Tuttobene.

To kick off the week of events we are hosting Designer Master Classes 9-11 April to give a selection of young designers the chance to present their work for critique by an accomplished designer and local professor. Our stellar lineup includes fuseproject‘s Yves Behár, Alex Mustonen of Snarkitecture and designer Luca Nichetto. In addition to our events you’ll find PechaKucha featuring Droog, Eames Demetrios and Martin Willers of People People, curated by PechaKucha co-founder Mark Dytham. Making the series even more special, this year’s presentations coincide with PechaKucha’s 10th anniversary.

Hosting two distinct presentations on separate evenings Designersblock brings 15 years of knowledge and experience to delve into the subjects of supporting emerging entrepreneurs and the future of Italian design. Also coinciding with their 10th anniversary, Dutch design platform Tuttobene will present “Work/Shop,” an exhibition drawing from its international network of designers. The workshops will look at the platform’s past and into the future with co-founder Victor le Noble as well as Frederik Roijé, co-founder and art-director for New Duivendrecht.

In addition to the design talks mentioned above, we’ll be announcing the winner of Heineken’s Your Future Bottle Design Challenge, and judge Joshua Davis, will host a seminar on the importance of remix in relation to design.

Open daily from 2:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m., The Magazzini offers a centralized locale for daily meetups or even just grabbing a late night drink with DJ sets by Massive Music each evening.
