London by Hand

Illustrator Jenni Sparks’ impressively detailed map of “The Big Smoke”

With a keen eye for details, illustrator Jenni Sparks recently completed a hand drawn map of little old London town. Produced in collaboration with fellow London-based art print retailer Evermade, this exceptionally drawn map leaves no ground uncovered. Sparks follows the city’s precise geography by way of the Tube, introducing a world of black and white buildings amongst intricately drawn and cleverly labeled landmarks.

Penciled in between the Thames and other bright parks and waterways, one will find architectural icons like Foster and Partner’s pickle-shaped Swiss Re Tower and the beloved Big Ben, as well as a few locales only soccer supporters may notice—Fulham F.C.’s Craven Cottage and Arsenal’s home of Highbury. Ultimately, it’s a map of Sparks’ London, and she has made sure to include quirky details like celebrity birthplaces, local markets and her favorite pubs.

Sparks’ hand-sketched maps are now available in two sizes as a professional giclée print. Both can be found exclusively through Evermade online for 130€ and 75€, respectively. To see more illustrations and graphic design by Sparks check her personal website.
