The Design Story
As nothing in the market integrated with her modern ad contemporary interiors, Australian architect Sally Dominguez set out to design baby furniture that did not compromise the aesthetics of living space.
Sally designed NEST® to incorporate a pedestal base which in compliments the organic shape of the seat and tray, adding up to a minimalist design. The scooped chair and sloped back gently restricts movement by cupping the child into a “racing car position”.
In practical terms it was important that NEST® was compact and stable to meet safety standards. Only durable materials were considered for the production of the chair. The base is made of heavy duty powder coated steel and the seat is made of UV stabilised polyethylene. The form and materials of NEST® make the chair simple to wipe clean.
An important consideration was that NEST® would last children beyond their toddler years. As such NEST® can be easily converted to NESTER a cool low lounging chair that will suit children up to 6 years of age.
NEST® was awarded the prestigious Australian Design Mark for innovative and safe design and has been featured in The Times, The Daily Telegraph, Sunday Times, Evening Standard, South China Morning Post, Junior Magazine, Dwell, Metropolitan Home, Living etc and continues to be featured in leading publications worldwide.
