Print All Over Me Launches ‘Endowment for Extraordinary Design’
Artists and designers, get up to $2000 worth of PAOM credit
Since its incarnation, DIY platform Print All Over Me (PAOM) has been bringing the wildest ideas to life—design the bucket hat or neoprene trench of your fancy, no fashion degree or bulk order required. Not only do they do host collaborations with designers like Annie Larson (the above lookbook photos, another example, are from a collection made with Tumblr for New York Fashion Week), much of PAOM’s work goes further than printing pretty things on blank canvases. You have musicians like Tune-Yards translating their album artwork into apparel and wearable tech studio The Crated developing T-shirts and hats that react to sunlight. As a hub for experimentation and creativity, PAOM is encouraging more voices to join in by launching an Endowment for Extraordinary Design that will offer a grant of up to $2000 in PAOM credit to support artists and designers.
“We started the fund, because our goal has always been to provide designers and artists with the tools to make custom clothing and textiles. We see the fund as an extension of our support for our community as well as a way for us to help educate people new or coming up in design on the process of creating a collection or arts related project,” says PAOM founder Jesse Finkelstein, who shares that they have over five million products on the site and over 150k designers. “We were able to establish the fund based on the success of the PAOM site.” There will be two opportunities a year to apply, and the inaugural round of applications is due by 25 March 2016 with up to 20 fellows to be announced by 1 April.
