Born of a “mutual desire to create transportation that is engineered art,” stunning craftsmanship and technology is at the forefront of the recent collaboration bringing together Portland bike-builder Renovo and Audi. The collection of handmade wooden bicycles, dubbed Duo, consists of three styles—city, sport and road—that each combine “luxury and performance.”

Like all of Renovo’s frames, Duos are progressively engineered to weather the elements and withstand impacts that destroy comparable bikes made from metal or carbon. With crisp, contoured lines—its looks rival opulent yachts such as Marc Newson’s Aquariva—it’s “an heirloom you can ride” but one intended to be used for everything from commuting to exploring.

Shock-absorbent and sustainable, the hardwood structures of each of the frames match Audi interiors, available in either Serrano Red or Espresso Brown coloring. Other features include LED lights, Shimano gear trains, as well as tires and handlebars suited to each model’s purpose.

Duos span $6,530 to $7,460 depending on the style and sell online from Audi.
