Shinola’s First Single Speed: Detroit Arrow
The American manufacturing authority’s latest offering is a utility-focused urban riding machine
Ever since its renaissance in 2011, Shinola has become synonymous with exceptional American design. Launching today, 17 March 2015, the Detroit Arrow is hand assembled—like all Shinola products—in Detroit by the company’s first-rate bike specialists with the city cyclist in mind. Available for both men and women, the Detroit Arrow features a lightweight, strong TIG-welded TrueTemper frame and fork designs using double-butted cro-moly steel, exclusively manufactured by Waterford Precision Cycles in Wisconsin. A leather saddle, cork grips, fenders, chain guard and bell—all proprietary Shinola products—round out the upscale detailing of the bike.
Though the Detroit Arrow’s traditional black and white models are already exceptional, the limited-edition nickel-plated version is a step above. Using an anti-corrosive mirrored finish, the high-luster single-speed is sure to make heads turn. In addition, purchase gains access to The Foundry, Shinola’s exclusive members club for its most loyal customers.
