Since 2006, Behance has been the platform for emerging creators with vision and desire. More than a place to store one’s work, it’s a tool for discovery employed by agencies and organizations the world around. An acquisition by Adobe in 2012 only increased awareness for the makers within. And now, the creative team at Behance has selected hundreds of works that take art and design in a new direction and unified them within “Super-Modified: The Behance Book of Creative Work.” This 288-page full color tome is equal parts inspiring and informative—with every striking series of images coupled with insight and valuable behind-the-scenes process notes.

The title alone hints at what one can find within. “Super-Modified” addresses the future-forward design work—across fashion, furniture, graphic design and more—that’s filled the Behance site for years. The book is divided into 18 themed chapters ranging from Digital Outlaws and Modern Wood to Patterns on Patterns and Dynamic Branding. There’s an emphasis within on innovative approaches to traditional crafts and highlights of new technologies and their unexpected uses. A clear takeaway is that subversion has the potential to carry great beauty.

Over 100 artists and designers have their work featured in the book. It was their initial want to share their work online that lead to this opportunity. The resulting book stands as an inspiring gateway to the internet’s offerings—and a robust survey of what Behance has to offer.

Preorder “Super-Modified: The Behance Book of Creative Work” on Amazon for $50. It will be available at bookstores on 17 March 2015.
