Topo Designs’ First-Ever Women’s Collection

The rugged outfitter offers its classic flannel and fleece pieces in more sizes

by Adrienne So

After many, many requests, Topo Designs—the Colorado-based outfitter that has garnered acclaim for its rugged, yet stylish outdoor apparel and equipment—has finally released a new line for women. The initial offerings include women’s versions of the popular mountain pants, camp shorts, fleece and shirt, as well as previous collaborations like the exclusive Topo Designs + Westerlind hat and the Topo Designs + Chaco sandals.

Topo Designs applied their signature durability and striking retro aesthetic to their women’s wear, tailoring items to be more comfortable and flattering for women’s shapes. Items like the camp shirt were given slightly smaller chest pockets, a dart between the shoulder blades, a tapered waist and roomier hips. The camp shorts feature a mid-rise waist and a slightly shorter inseam. “Topo Designs wanted to offer a selection of women’s pieces that we knew women were already interested in from the style side of things and wanted to make them fit better,” said Becky Day, from Topo Designs’ marketing team.

For the fall 2016 season, Topo Designs plans on adding to the line-up with women’s versions of their popular plaid flannels, puffer vests, mountain jacket and heavyweight tees. They are also currently developing women’s-only pieces that are scheduled to appear in early 2017.

The line is available in stores and online.
