A Los Angeles Bar Uncovers a Trove of ’70s Liquors

The new owners of the old school Los Angeles bar Mr T’s Bowl recently made a startling discovery while cleaning it out for renovation. Hiding upstairs in a forgotten storage room were cases of old liquor bottles—possibly 1,000 of them—including rare whiskeys, pre-mixed vodka martinis and weird speciality liquors that date back to the ‘70s. When the renovated bar—the Highland Park Bowl—opens, the owners plan to host “then-and-now” tastings with the vintage spirits, allowing guests to try them out for themselves. Learn more at Munchies.
