There’s no such thing as too much chocolate. Though single origin bars are an excellent taste experience in the nuances of cocao from place to place, there’s something to be said for the inventive and unexpected. Los Angeles-based Compartés Chocolate has a 60-year history of producing exceptional handmade chocolate, but they’re not afraid to switch things up. Head chocolatier Jonathan Grahm‘s novel combination bars (and their beautiful packaging) recently caught our eye. Donuts & Coffee includes full-on pieces of donut with a hint of coffee. It doesn’t hurt that the rich milk chocolate is exceptionally smooth. Meanwhile the Biscuits & Honey bar plays off the naturally occurring bright notes in the dark chocolate. Perusing the brand’s line-up of bars with varieties like Coney Island Waffle Cone and Piña Colada, there’s no shortage of new and surely exceptional combinations to explore.

Bars from Compartés don’t come cheap starting at $10 a piece, but they’re sure to leave a lasting impression—you’ll undoubtedly be checking back for the latest combinations.
