HUH: January Playlist

There’s no better time to discover new music than the start of the year and London-based HUH Magazine’s January 2015 playlist is chocked full of new music from new and familiar names alike. Music editor Joe Reeve kicks things off with hometown art rockers Django Django’s mellow yet sun-filled single “First Light.” Airing on the side of indie electronica (James Blake, Purity Ring) Reeve drops in a few surprises, namely a post-punk track from Calgary’s Viet Cong that sounds like a Joy Division b-side. Not rigidly adhering to the calendar, the playlist is rounded out with a few jams you might have missed during the frenzy of the holiday season like “Sugah Daddy” off D’Angelo’s spectacular Black Messiah. Keep an eye on HUH’s Spotify account for new tracks throughout the month.
