New tracks from Tkay Maidza, Jamie Lidell, !!! and more in this week’s musical round-up

Lianne La Havas: Unstoppable

Ahead of her forthcoming album release Blood, soulful crooner Lianne La Havas stripped down her new track “Unstoppable” for The Daily Beast. The result teeters between haunting and epic—all the while showcasing the magnificence of her voice, lyricism and guitar playing. It’s pretty—and a pretty unstoppable demonstration of her artistry.

Tkay Maidza: M.O.B.

Last year, we fell for the Australian rapper, singer and producer Tkay Maidza—courtesy of her track “U-Huh.” Now the 19-year-old has returned with “M.O.B.” (aka Money Over Bitches) and a sweet animated music video made in collaboration with Adult Swim. Featuring her now-trademark meticulous (yet seemingly effortless) lyrics with EDM flourishes, “M.O.B.” is a letter in song form to her future self: work hard and don’t give up.

Chk Chk Chk (!!!): Sick Ass Moon

One of two new tracks revealed on !!!’s album teaser, “Sick Ass Moon” delivers everything we’ve come to love about the densely-layered dance punks. There’s rhythm, soul and synths all draped in alluring vocals. It sounds good, feels good and if it’s any indicator, the album As If, due out 16 October, will surely please.

Angel Haze: Impossible

Following heartbreaking and emotional tracks from her upcoming EP In The Winter Of Wet Years, Angel Haze releases “Impossible” this week. From self-empowerment to politics, the fiery track features a clattering beat reminiscent of a machine gun and Angel Haze’s familiar sharp and fast vocals.

Jamie Lidell: Pink Light

The ever-charming Jamie Lidell unveils “Pink Light“—a soulful and synth-heavy stand-alone track. While Lidell hasn’t announced a follow-up record to his self-titled LP from 2013, we can only hope this appears on an album full of equally lush and dreamy songs from the talented British artist.

ListenUp is a Cool Hunting series published every Sunday that rounds up the music we tweeted throughout the week, also found in Listen. Hear the year so far via Cool Hunting Spotify.
