Twin Shadow: Turn Me Up

Turn Me Up” is Twin Shadow’s first track in months after a brief hiatus. Continuing in the same synth-tinged vein, the new release feels somehow grander than previous efforts—more stadium anthem than basement bar.

Taxie: Rock Don’t Stop

Announced during a recent NTS Radio set with Four Tet, UK producer Floating Points is launching a new record label in the new year, called Melodies. First up for the imprint will be a reissue of Taxie’s “Rock Don’t Stop“—a rare 1979 soul groove from Archwood Records.

Babe Rainbow: Don’t Tell Me I’m Wrong

Nearly seven years after their last collaboration, Ghostly International and [Adult Swim] are set to release their second free album. Listen to Babe Rainbow’s contribution to the compilation—”Don’t Tell Me I’m Wrong“—a hypnotic, airy beat reminiscent of the constant crashing of ocean waves on the shore.

Baby Alpaca: Roller Coaster

In advance of next year’s forthcoming EP, Brooklyn duo Baby Alpaca has released a beautiful new (and sexually charged) track, “Roller Coaster.” It’s music for lovemaking, or at least, inspiration.

The Vinyl Factory’s Top 100 Vinyl Releases of 2014

London’s The Vinyl Factory has published their Top 100 Vinyl Releases of 2014, and Panoram’s Everyone Is A Door came in at number one. Dubbed by TVF as “Miles Davis and Dam-Funk’s love child in a spacesuit,” it’s surprising, musically “ineffable” and beautifully packaged.

ListenUp is our filtered look at music, shared daily in Listen and on Twitter, and rounded up every Sunday morning. Hear the year so far via our Spotify playlist.
