CH Omakase 2017: CMPLT UNKNWN Embroidered Scorpion Pouch
Rock’n’roll luxury meets sustainability with this striking accessory
NYC-based accessories brand CMPLT UNKNWN has long been positioned at the crossroad of luxury and sustainability. Employing highly skilled artisans in Lucknow and Calcutta, India, who hand-make each piece, the incredible detail in each release is strikingly impressive. More importantly, this work means that the ancient art of hand-embroidery is kept alive in a world that places more value in fast fashion. Not only does the brand attempt to have zero environmental impact, it uses non-animal, cruelty-free materials, as well as water-based glues on all their products. All of these feel-good features don’t take away from the appearance—their pieces are eye-catching and luxurious.
This year, the NYC-brand teamed up with CH for CH Omakase and offered a limited edition of 10 velvet pouches for clients. The soft velvet balances out the intense but gorgeous hand-embroidered scorpion (in silver metallic wire) and the combination is a little decadent and a little rock’n’roll. The pouch shape is modeled after our favorite bag for carrying tech acessories but serves just as well as a clutch for a night out.
