Kith + High Snobiety Collaborative PUMA Sneaker Collection

Ronnie Fieg helps the media company celebrate 10 years with two pairs of brand new kicks

Thriving as a media company that publishes inspired, cutting-edge cultural content for a decade—eschewing trends while targeting new but lasting movements—is no small feat. High Snobiety has successfully navigated these tricky waters and continues to look better than ever. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, they’ve called upon lifestyle brand Kith founder Ronnie Fieg to release two signature products. The result happens to be limited edition Puma sneakers—classic silhouettes reimagined by Fieg with design flourishes relating directly to the publisher.

“The whole concept behind the designs was to include how David [Fischer, High Snobiety’s founder and publisher) influenced the US and how my work influenced Berlin,” Fieg shares—referencing the publication’s dual headquarters in NYC and Germany. With that in mind, Fieg imparted a navy, red and white theme to the classic Blaze of Glory sneakers—creating the updated RF-Blaze of Glory. Further, the tongue sports an asymmetrical stars-and-stripes deboss pattern. There’s Americana here, but also Fieg’s touch. Regarding the RF698S, an update to the R698, the tongue has been removed and the upper was deconstructed—replacing paneling with extended classic Puma form stripes. There’s also the application of 3M German flag inserts on the medial form stripes, lending a sleek Euro energy to the kicks.

According to Fieg, an avid reader of High Snobiety, “David and I worked on a project a long time ago. It was called the Trilogy project: basically a collaboration with three different blogs early on in my career, around 2009. I built a relationship with David as soon as a I met him. For the 10 year anniversary he hit me up and I had big plans for it.” High Snobiety has had a large impact of Fieg’s life—as well as the lives of its many readers. It only makes sense that their 10th anniversary be celebrated with something special, helmed by one of the most innovative shoe designers out there.

The KITH + High Snobiety + PUMA sneakers will be available on Friday, 25 September 2015 at KITH Manhattan (644 Broadway), KITH Brooklyn (233 Flatbush Ave), Soto Berlin (Torstraße 72) and online at KithNYC, for $160.
