Orley Ties

The young knitwear brand adds graphic ties to their vibrant line

Dissatisfied with men’s knitwear options that skewed drab or overly flamboyant, brothers Alex and Matthew Orley, along with their friend and partner Samantha Florence, launched Orley with a Fall/Winter 2012 collection. Orley’s debut line of psychedelic, Italian-made sweaters quickly earned the trio a reputation for being both original and quality-driven. For their second collection, they decided to expand their spring offerings, branching into ties and unisex T-shirts. Like their first collection, Orley’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection was manufactured in Italy and takes its inspiration from heritage patterns and mosaics.

Orley’s first tie collection infuses the line’s characteristic humor and elegance to snazz up classic silk tie clichés. Paisley is re-imagined as a pale collection of digitized flowers and your dad’s go-to houndstooth knot is rejuvenated with a vibrant green. Our favorite is the Atlas tie—Orley’s colorful and geometric take on the classic camo. Every tie features 100% Italian silk with a birdseye jacquard knit, which adds a texturized finish. Skinny with flat square tip, Orley’s ties are both contemporary and casual, pairing well with a suit or an untucked button-down.

Orley’s ties are $195 and can be purchased through their newly launched e-commerce website.
