The performance apparel brand introduces a range of pieces engineered for women
For half a decade now we’ve been keeping tabs on the latest from performance apparel brand Outlier. From cycling-ready trousers and articulated button-downs to technically superior towels, the Brooklyn-based brand is always on point with advanced design, product photography and clean overall image. And now the clever brand is branching further into womenswear with the introduction of four new, top layering pieces. Impressively, the items don’t stray from the brand’s sleek, minimal aesthetic identity while remaining attractive with a smart, just-feminine-enough sensibility. And of course, each piece is specifically engineered for the female form.
Out of the gate, the 60/30 Class Cut Blazer is an absolute stand out. If not for its sharp style—being both handsome and beautiful—then for its versatile material and considered construction. Our bets are on the Women’s Mojave Pivot and Women’s Air Forged Oxford shirts, which are two classic designs with everyday application. The first of which is made of a cotton, linen and ramie blend, making the short-sleeve shirt an ideal piece for the soon-to-come summer season. The oxford, on the other hand, is constructed of a stronger, softer “air-forged” cotton/nylon cloth made custom for Outlier. Rounding out the newly introduced collection is the Merino Racerback Tank, a 17.5 micron merino wool performance top that’s naturally soft, moisture wicking and adverse to odor. Together with the previously available women’s pants, these items help create a well-rounded first step toward future women’s designs.
