See-thru ripstop nylon shows the feathers inside a new down jacket
A special edition of their Down Sweater, Patagonia’s latest nylon ripstop jacket is twice as strong yet weighs half as much as their classic cold-weather staple. Packed with 900-fill-power premium European goose down under a translucent water repellent shell, the jacket’s silvery look is highlighted by chartreuse zippers for a touch of flare.
I was quickly enamored with the see-thru shell and pleased to learn that it was a happy accident. The designers at Patagonia noticed the translucent nature of their new nylon fabric and liked how it looked so decided to go with it. As you can see in the photos below, the feathers are visible behind the rip-stop lending a subtle, yet beautiful texture.
