Rapha SS14 Hooded Wind Jacket

A lightweight, DWR-coated jacket that’s perfect for spring riding

Like the groans and gripes that winter will never release its grasp, the temperatures around NYC (and the Northern Hemisphere in general) have finally begun to ease up. While T-shirt weather is still some time away, now is the right time to bring your bike out of storage and start riding again. To help with motivation, this week Rapha released their SS14 City Collection, headlined by the Hooded Wind Jacket. It’s still great to see the continued emphasis on technical pieces that are driven equally by function and aesthetics.

The lightweight, breathable wind jacket is made of 90% nylon with 10% elastane for a slight stretch, features a DWR-treated for water repellency, an asymmetrical zipper to prevent chin rubbing and a longer backside to shield against road grime during spring showers. Plus, reflective logos and hi-vis drawcords make it slightly safer in lowlight conditions. Visit Rapha online, where the Hooded Wind Jacket sells for $295.
