Inside, the brand utilizes their PrimaLoft Gold insulation—and the jacket comes equipped with a removable shearling collar. Heavyweight ribbing rounds out the cuffs and hem. This isn’t your average varsity jacket. The Roots’ Men’s Pendleton Varsity ($598) combines the best of both brands’ backgrounds: Pendleton’s iconic designs and wool, paired with Roots’ use of high-end Tribe leather—all hand-assembled in Canada. The warm, personality-laden jackets are also limited edition.
Wings + Horns Hybrid Leather Bomber
When an asymmetrical leather front and zip fastening met with raglan wool sleeves, a new bomber was born. The Hybrid Leather Bomber ($814), from Canada’s wing + horns definitely takes design cues from rider jackets, but ultimately delivers something bold and distinct—that’s also built for warmth.
Noah Sailor Pullover Jacket
From brand new outerwear brand Noah, founded by Brendon Babenzien (former creative director of Supreme), the Sailor Pullover Jacket ($598) takes its inspiration from activities upon the seas. It’s equal parts wool cashmere pull-over and blend of a pea coat and raincoat—utilizing Loro Piana Storm System fabric, making it waterproof. There’s also a striped merino wool lining for extra warmth.
Aether Skyline Motorcycle Jacket
Designed to keep urban riders warm, the Aether Skyline Motorcycle Jacket ($650) offers up the best in materials. Hewn from Japanese field nylon, with a three-layer, heavy-duty shell it offers cold-weather protection while still looking sleek. It also happens to be waterproof, breathable and abrasion-resistant and comes complete with interior padding for actual accident protection.
Maharishi 9130 Tripadded Reversible MA Jacket
Made from upcycled quilted liners, the Maharishi Reversible MA Jacket (£270) is more than done in the military field style, it’s a modernized take on a vintage piece that has been recut and updated. With that said, no two jackets will be entirely the same. They all, however, are fully reversible—allowing for a nice showcase of the tour silk interior.
Nau Blazing Recycled Down Jacket
Also with moto inspiration, but fit for ski-slopes, Nau’s Blazing Recycled Down jacket ($395) aims at tackling even colder temperatures. Inside, it sports premium 650-fill recycled down, underneath a two-layer stretch woven poly-shell. And while it might look angular in imagery, it’s a sleek, slender fit that looks good when in use.
