The Quarter Century Pant

RPMWEST takes the idea of the rugged, long-lasting American jean and uses it to make pants with a 25-year guarantee

Few things are more frustrating than finding that perfect pair of pants, only to have them shrink, rip or fray within months of first putting them on. Californian company RPMWEST has decided to take action; with the idea of rugged, long-lasting American jeans in mind, the young brand has designed a pair of pants so durable, they are offering a 25-year guarantee on every purchase.

Launching via Kickstarter, the aptly-named Quarter Century Pant has already reached its funding goal in just 24 hours—a sign that people are sick of poorly-made apparel. Opting for a timeless chino style, the Quarter Century Pant uses three-ply, 100% cotton twill, which is 10 times stronger than the single yarn used in most pants. But the durability is all in the details: tucked belt loops, a heavy duty zipper and military-grade copper hardware give these trousers the strength to stand the test of time. The Quarter Century Pant also boasts a double-reinforced crotch, so there’s no worry about accidental overexposure. Best of all, these pants are made in Los Angeles, with the highest standards in manufacturing, materials and labor.

Currently available in a slim or straight leg silhouette, the Quarter Century Pant comes in four classic colors (khaki, forest, stone, charcoal) and will retail for $85, a price that the company can maintain by selling directly to its customers. RPMWEST has also designed a companion belt for the pants, made of 100% American-sourced leather and assembled by hand. And if the campaign reaches $50k (a reasonable goal given the campaign’s extraordinary popularity), RPMWEST will also design a Quarter Century Short, because high-quality manufacturing should be stylish for every season.
