Stylist Vanessa Traina’s casual opulence in an inviting online format

With today’s launch of The Line, famed fashion stylist Vanessa Traina has entered the luxury retail world. As the site’s executive creative director, Traina hand-picked all of their stock, which includes clothing, beauty products, furniture and home decor. She refers to her selections as “quintessentials,” focusing on timeless items defined by simplicity. There is an ease to the presentation of season-less items, which is encouraged further by the site’s nonchalantly pristine aesthetic.

The functionality and refinement of the site’s design perfectly compliment the inspiration behind the clothing and house-ware objects. Fashion label Protagonist, designed by Kate Wendelborn, is launching exclusively with The Line, while other featured brands include Reed Krakoff and Christophe Lemaire. Housewares range from furniture design hub The Warehouse to Phaidon press books. The family of products are classic and pair well with each other. We’re also proud of Joel Niedfeldt, longtime friend of CH, for his work as The Line’s VP of Technology. The site is as easy to navigate as it is beautiful.

Behind its life online, The Line will also introduce The Apartment in mid-October 2013. A seasonally-shifting event space, The Apartment will feature and contextualize the products sold online at The Line. In this physical manifestation of Traina’s vision, guests will be able to meet and learn more about each creator. Additionally, the intimate Greene Street location will host discussions and screenings, dinners and other themed events.
