Kenzo Quilted Blouson

Part of Carol Lim and Humberto Leon’s first men’s collection for Kenzo, this apple green blouson is a hybrid between a classic bomber and a quilted down coat. The green leather jacket is an effortless statement piece with details like slash pockets and a chunky gold zipper.

Acne Suzane Coat

Flawlessly tailored and highlighter hued, Acne’s Suzane Coat is a day-glo alternative to the traditional wool peacoat. An asymmetrical button up, the knee-length design lends to sleek silhouettes and minimalist appeal.

Nigel Cabourn Cameraman Jacket

Nigel Cabourn’s two-tone coat is made with a mackintosh upper and linen bottom for variable weather conditions. The Scottish-made Cameraman Jacket takes a cue from Wilfrid Noyce’s jacket worn during the 1953 Everest Expedition alongside Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. The outerwear piece is the label’s flagship jacket, featuring both hook and button closures, a drawstring hood and four flap pockets with side entry.

Moncler Gamme Bleu Down Jacket

Designer Thom Browne brings his characteristic playful attitude to the respected French brand, emphasizing Moncler’s racing aesthetic and use of durable fabrics in a decidedly bright and buttery yellow. The Moncler Gamme Bleu down jacket from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection is the perfect finish brings a pop of color to a gentleman’s ensemble with its unlikely hue.

Trew Cosmic

Made for the mountains, Trew’s Cosmic Coat finds its identity in tech-driven design and details. Boasting three layer fabric with 20,000mm waterproofing and breathability—enough to keep you dry even in the harshest winter conditions—and taped seams, this backcountry-ready jacket is a good bet if you’re looking to revamp your on-hill attire.

Garbstore Langdale Parka

Made in an energizing, cobalt blue Japanese twill, the Garbstore’s Langdale parka is the perfect coat to transition you from fall to winter. Classically cut, the parka is lined in a red jersey and detailed with leather toggles and button-down bearer map pockets. We were especially drawn to the lined hood and small details like the hidden internal pocket.

Patagonia Pelage Coat

Patagonia’s reliable fleece line gets a vintage-inspired addition with the Pelage Coat. The slightly dressier sport option features a 3/4 length and asymmetrical closure. Designed to be windproof, the lining is made from recycled polyester treated with Deluge DWR water repellant to curb airflow, while a thick collar and warming pockets protect vulnerable extremities from chilly gusts.

YMC Reversible Cara Quilted Jacket

Vaguely reminiscent of a classic fisherman’s rain slicker, British label YMC’s
reversible Cara Quilted Jacket comes in a yellow that gives it a retro feel, updated with a rich silk blend and sharp fit. We like the tomboy appeal and youthful spirit for a season that sometimes takes itself way tops seriously.

Rachel Comey Shasta Wool Hepburn

Even before noticing the name of this beauty we were imagining the actress herself strolling down a foggy cobblestone street. Made of pure Casentino wool, the classic oversized coat features minimal detailing—cropped sleeves, zip front and short funnel collar—leaving the cocoon silhouette as a standalone statement.

Comme des Garçons Oversized Blue Jacket

Part of their playfully oversized Fall/Winter 2012 outerwear collection, Comme des Garçons’ bright blue overcoat is sure to make an impact on the streets. A riff on a classic peacoat, this jacket is built around a blown-out A-line silhouette with an exaggerated collar and oversized bell-shaped sleeves. Made with thick, technicolor blue wool, one can delight in the coat’s expert tailoring and subtle details like the gloriously unfinished hem.
