Milan Design Week 2019: Bang & Olufsen’s Beovision Harmony TV System

Oak and aluminum panels fan out to reveal a future-forward screen

With screens in our pockets, on our wrists and atop our desks, their omnipresence often impedes two desirable tenets of a home: peace and harmony. With impeccable attention to detail—and a history of design precision and technological advancement—Bang & Olufsen hopes to change this. The Beovision Harmony system—which includes an LG OLED C9 77-inch TV—partially conceals its slender, future-forward screen. Two elegant panels partially disrupt views of this screen and house a cutting-edge, tuned-by-hand sound-system. When one is interested in viewing, the system’s panels fan out like butterfly wings and the screen rises.

Beauty aside, the Beovision Harmony does everything one needs it to and more—be that accessing Netflix or Amazon Prime or streaming via Apple Airplay 2, Bluetooth or Chromecast. Regarding the state-of-the-art speaker system, there’s a built-in 7.1 surround-sound decoder, allowing it to connect to eight additional Beolab speakers.

Beovision Harmony will be available with a combined oak wood/aluminum or a combined gray melange two-tone fabric/aluminum front cover. There are two placement accessory options: a floor-stand or a wall-bracket. It will be available at Bang & Olufsen stores, starting in October 2019.
