Goby’s Inexpensive Electric Toothbrush

Focused on the health of users, this brand wants us to pay more attention to our mouths

Founded by friends Claire Burke and Ben Goldberg, Goby‘s main areas of focus are the health of users’ mouths and bank accounts. The duo both felt priced out of the electric toothbrush game and decided to create their own version. The result is the Goby: an affordable, effective and super-simple toothbrush for everybody and anybody. With two settings (regular and sensitive) paired with soft, premium rounded tip bristles, this toothbrush is not only better for your gums but also gentler all around. For those who haven’t used an electric toothbrush, this design couldn’t be easier. Simply press the button once or twice, depending on which mode you want, and the brush performs its duties, notifying you when it’s time to switch areas. The portable USB charger can be attached to the dock or used only when charging, and it only needs charging twice a month.

Not just focused on the oral hygiene of its users, Goby also partners with NYU College of Dentistry’s Global Student Outreach Program by donating a percentage of profits in order to offer dental care and education to people all over the world who don’t have easy access to either.

Goby is available as a set ($65) which includes one Goby brush (currently available in navy, bright blue, pink or orange), one brush head, a hygienic stand, the USB charging shell and a USB converter. Goby also offers brush heads for $6 each, or you can sign up for a subscription service—either once every two or three months. For people who brush more than twice daily, there’s also a once a month subscription.
