Klipsch Audio Outfits the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

The iconic venue gets a thorough, uniform sonic upgrade

For years now, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has honored the greatest in the industry while inviting fans into their iconic building filled with rare remnants of musical history. This year, that facility is getting an upgrade thanks to partner Klipsch Audio. At a location where the live music experience (and preserving recordings of the live music experience) reigns supreme, the brand is a good fit for a reason. Foremost among them happens to be a dedication to the high-end delivery of sound.

“The Rock Hall, the building itself, is 20 years old,” Klipsch VP of Marketing, Matt Sommers explains to CH. “Over the course of the last 20 years, their audio in the museum has become an amalgam of a bunch of brands from a bunch of periods. There are even relics from when the building was built. What Klipsch is doing is uniting all of the sounds in the Rock Hall—whether it’s a giant cinema system or headphones at listening stations.” The goal is a unified premium sound experience that lives up to the tracks played across the equipment. And while it’s a great honor for Klipsch, it’s also an all around upgrade for the Rock Hall.

Klipsch, founded back in 1946, is one of the only audio companies that exists over all the audio verticals—not to mention it’s the oldest speaker company still standing that hasn’t veered from sticking to the world of sound. They’re as classic as an American brand can be and that’s what resonated with the Rock Hall. Their large-scale contributions will commence this summer with an overhaul of five theater sound systems, then onto headphone racks within showrooms. They’ve already replaced soundbars and some headphones. Altogether, they’re working from the inside out, over all areas where audio is experienced.

“As for the origin,” Sommers shares, “Klipsch has always been a part of the live music experience. One of our brand tenants is that we want to provide that live music experience with our speakers. the company was founded on the sole idea that we wanted to bring music to the living room.” Klipsch has long partnered with musicians and music tours, but this year they decided to take it up a notch. They sponsored the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, and will continue to do so for the next few years. But it’s their equipment that’s most valuable—and it will leave a long-lasting impact on the visitors and music listeners, honing the experience at a museum dedicated to sound.
