The Sila Nanotechnologies co-founder is working to revolutionize the batteries that drive our cars
Gene Berdichevsky, co-founder and CEO of Oakland-based Sila Nanotechnologies, is working to power tomorrow’s vehicles. After moving on from engineering one of the first mass-produced lithium-ion batteries for cars, Berdichevsky (who has co-authored some 42 patents) hopes to improve battery density and ultimately lower their cost.
This, he explains, will ease in the widespread adoption of electric vehicles. Berdichevsky—one of the Mercedes-Benz EQ Fellows at Summit LA—is a shining example of how compartmentalized innovation can impact an entire industry.
