Schlep gear with ease in a new backcountry camera bag
From roof racks to bike bags, Thule knows how to schlepp in style. If it needs to be hauled, lugged or carried, there’s a good chance that the Swedish company has a solution to get your gear from the garage to the great outdoors. Their latest release is a series of camera bags that range from messenger style to daypacks, all unified under a streamlined aesthetic highlighted with pops of color. We had a chance to survey the Perspectiv backpack, a spot-on combination of trekking convenience and photography essentials.
Aimed at the prosumer, Perspectiv gives shooters a lightweight pack that sits comfortably on the hips for day trips in the backcountry, or even around the city. Waterproof seams, a hideaway rainfly and water-resistant stash pockets protect your tech from the most obvious concern when shooting outdoors. As it turns out, the high-visibility liner is for more than just looks—the teal interior makes it easy to find loose elements in the bottom of your pack.
The top compartment is separate from the main camera stow area, which gives you the option to store clothing, food and anything else you might need on a day trip. The side-access camera pouch allows you to grab gear without removing the backpack completely by simply swinging it around front over your shoulder. For set shots and time-lapse enthusiasts, a simple buckle is enough to latch your tripod or monopod onto the exterior.
