As Monday marked the 20th anniversary of what is widely considered to be the first secure online sale, the thought of visiting a physical shopping mall to peruse goods seems even farther fetched than ever before. Combining the experience and variety of shopping at a mall with the comfort and freedom of e-commerce is Spring, a new mobile marketplace. Launching today, 14 August 2014, the new iOS app now allows users to shop 100+ top luxury fashion brands and emerging designers from their phone through a single outlet. Including brands like Levi’s, Everlane and even Brooklyn’s Pilgrim Surf + Supply, the well-designed app turns the swipe of a finger into all one needs to browse and buy garments and accessories from their favorite designers.

In short, Spring is a facilitator and a destination, not a retailer itself—though Spring does select which brands they work with. Users create an account with payment and shipping information, which is then seamlessly and directly translated to whichever brand a piece is purchased from—meaning all you need to do is swipe to purchase and the item will be delivered shortly thereafter. To encourage users to explore and interact with the app, a “curated community” of brands and individuals—CH included—exists, posting highlighted selections, limited editions and one-off designs. By following brands and curators, and browsing posts in an Instagram-like manner, users gain access to even more personalized content and exclusive offers.

While the swipe-to-purchase feature is obviously a fun detail, we’re most excited about the simple fact that such a significant collection of quality brands now exists in a single place for all to shop and share hassle-free. Spring is now available for iPhone, while iPad and Android compatible updates are expected to be released soon as well. Visit Spring‘s website for more information.
