Collaborations between like-minded creators often produce the best results, when the combination is just right. Luckily the team at Copenhagen’s “no bullshit” audio design company AIAIAI and Los Angeles independent record label Stones Throw (known for releasing some of the most influential hip-hop and experimental music of the past two decades) have teamed up to produce a true music lover’s headphone, the TMA-1 Stones Throw Edition. The initial design brief for the TMA-1 came from interviewing those who rely on their headphones professionally: DJs. The resulting TMA-1 is a stripped down, timeless design, packed with superior sound through 40mm closed titanium drivers with features geared towards professionals and serious audiophiles alike. Now the adjustable cup headphones have the Stones Throw treatment, in a limited deep purple colorway with the label’s logo embossed on each cup complete with two sets of ear-pads; one leather, one synthetic.

In honor of the new collaboration, Stones Throw has released a limited seven-inch vinyl with unreleased material from label founder Peanut Butter Wolf and modern funk star Dâm-Funk. This release is only available to the first 300 buyers of the special edition TMA-1s, available from the Stones Throw online store for $219.
