Launched this week, the e-commerce site A Permanent Vacation introduced their debut product—a sleek, backpack collaboration with Valentich Bags (now going by the name Campfire) of Ridgeway, Colorado. Made by hand in the States, the rectangular canvas bag is thoughtfully designed to accommodate the needs of both the urban and outdoor explorer.

The simple silhouette of the pack masks the intricacies of the contrasted interior, which includes a book pocket, tablet and laptop sleeve and a secret stash pocket. Details like waterproof zippers and exterior pockets add to the functionality of the bag without marring the aesthetically driven design envisioned by the brand’s founder (and J. Crew’s Art Director) Michael Ian Bird.

A first step towards what will be a gear-centric shop, APV’s weekend pack feels like a love note to those who pursue craft, design and adventure in equal measure. Backed by a lifetime guarantee, the backpack is available in three colorways—gray with red interior, black with mint, and khaki with blue—exclusively through their website for $300.
