Get outdoors in bright, lightweight style this spring

Operating under the belief that getting outside should be fun and easy rather than intimidating, San Francisco-based outdoors company Alite Designs foregoes expensive, specialized gear for woodsy pursuits in favor of the lightweight Squirrel Pack.

The small backpack has an astonishingly hefty 11-liter capacity in a 13.3” by 9.5” frame, making it large enough to carry a water bottle, several books and a light jacket. The bag also has an internal pocket that is sized perfectly for an iPad, in case you need some added entertainment on your hike.

Back padding and wide straps make the backpack comfortable enough for day trips, while a wide array of stylish colors helps the bag transition seamlessly to city life. It also rolls up easily and compactly, should you opt to pack it and switch bags later in the day.

At only $22, the squirrel pack is durable, light, attractive and affordable—not a combination that’s easy to find. Buy it in Alite’s online shop, currently marked down as part of their spring hiking sale.
