It’s time to dismiss the “Second City” nomenclature, as Chicago takes the backseat to nobody. As a haven of early modern architecture in the US, with towering historic structures lining the Loop over looking the Chicago River, the city’s knack for design and mindful aesthetics started young—much earlier than most of our standout cities, in fact. In more recent years, as home to a lively jazz and rock culture, all kinds of live theater and a thriving comedy scene, Chicago has a personality and atmosphere all of its own. The last decade has seen an explosion in the culinary arts, artisanship and young cultural attractions, each made uniquely “Chicago” by the city’s rich history and heartland integrity. Our guide for the city—the latest feature from our newly launched Lexus City Guides—will help you be sure to not skip a beat.

Be sure to catch a boat tour of the city’s architecture before hitting the West Loop’s Fulton Market and Randolph Street for the fresh food scene. Follow with a night of live music and comedy in Wicker Park with some of the industries’ most talented up-and-commers. For a more romantic Chicago adventure, take a Divvy Bike for a ride along Lake Michigan and an afternoon of shopping and dining in Logan Square.

In collaboration with Lexus, our newly launched City Guides aim to make our standout cities more drivable and enjoyable for visitors and locals alike. Each delivers the best shopping, dining and adventure that our standout cities have to offer. Check out our guide to Chicago for a fresh take of the historical destination, and be sure to check back in for new cities and updates from the CH team.
