With well over 30 years of design ideation, innovation and experience under their belt, Italian creative agency Hangar Design Group continues to look toward an ever-evolving frontier. Driven by instincts to travel and to create, the same minds that produced “Ideas not Airships“—an award-winning commemorative tome with which we are still enamored—recently launched the Hangar Travel Guide. Including countless countries and cities across all seven continents, the extensive and supremely well-designed iPhone app offers a wide selection of to-dos and to-sees sourced from architects, photographers, designers and other creatives connected to the agency. And, thanks to the open “Our Friends” section, international users are welcome to submit their own destinations for possible inclusion as well.

Four near-comprehensive categories divide all search results—Hotel, Food, Cool and Shop—to guide the design-driven through unfamiliar cities. A quick look revealed some familiar names in our most frequented cities and introduced many more, only encouraging us to expand our scope. Toggling between sections highlights the app’s foundation of finely tuned graphic design and an intuitive user interface. Each area fades in and out with precision, displaying city-specific images and information.

Available exclusively in English, the Hangar Travel Guide is available in the iTunes App Store for just $1. At such a modest price, it seems worth a go even if you aren’t leaving town in the foreseeable future. Who knows, it might even inspire your next trek. Also visit Hangar Design Group.
