The Meriwether Tent from Shelter Co. Supply

A rugged yet upscale dwelling from the pop-up lodging experts’ new line of gear

With temperatures rising and the sun staying up into the evening hours in the Northern Hemisphere, the time is right to head to get back to nature. If seeking the most tech-savvy ultralight alpine gear isn’t your vibe, there’s the Meriwether tent from Shelter Co.‘s newly launched Supply line of aesthetically driven, classically styled, outdoor adventure tools. The SF-based camping service started out providing pop-up summer camp-inspired digs for events and group travel. Constructed from rugged fire- and mildew-resistant canvas, the Meriwether tent sleeps between four and six adults comfortably. Though at 16 feet across, with a smaller group, the tent affords plenty of space to designate living and sleeping areas.

What sets the Meriwether apart from vintage tents of similar ilk is both the construction and functionality. The special flame-resistant canvas meets or exceeds safety standards in all 50 states. Meanwhile, campers can keep the fresh air flowing with a fully screened entrance, four screened windows and vents at the tent’s 9’6” apex. A vinyl bottom—available in three colorways—keeps the ground floor dry, even during rainfall. While campers will probably want to stay a while, the tent, poles and stakes all pack up easily into an included duffle bag with an overall dry weight of just 65 pounds.

The Meriwether tent is currently available online for $1250. Keep an eye out for future product releases from Shelter Co. Supply, including an expanding line of tents and full line of outdoor adventure gear for kids.
