It takes a lot to hold attention for longer than a few minutes anywhere online. Recognizable Squarespace templates, the same popular independent designers popping up again and again, endless scrolling and more have made online shopping pretty boring. New online lifestyle boutique Kindred Black, however, is toiling hard to bring the excitement of discovery back to the browser window. Co-founders Alice Wells and Jennifer Francis have put together a mix of clothing, jewelry, home goods, apothecary items, publications, art objects and one-of-a-kind vintage and antique finds. Many you’ll never have seen or come across before; all are connected by the Kindred Black mission to stock eco-responsible, craftsman produced and ethically manufactured goods. The shop has just released a well-edited collection of vintage denim to complete your near-impossible quest for the perfect pair of worn-in jeans in one click.
You’ll find everything from the classic Levi’s 501s and 505s to the lesser-known Orange Tabs—plus some Lee and Wrangler jeans—in different sizes, cuts and washes to suit your preference. The full-length pairs are worn in at all the right places, but look sturdy enough to enjoy their second or third life. You won’t have to transform them into cut-offs anytime soon.
The lookbook was shot by fashion photographer Kava Gorna, who knows her butts well: we just wrote about her striking, self-explanatory photo book “100 Cheeks.”
