Devendra Banhart: I Left My Noodle on Ramen Street
A decade’s worth of drawings, paintings and photos in a hardcover from the singer/songwriter and visual artist
Devendra Banhart’s story as a visual artist-turned-musician has been retold many a time in interviews. In his new book “I Left My Noodle on Ramen Street,” the Venezuelan-American singer/songwriter with eight albums under his belt pieces together his drawings, paintings, photos from the past 10 years. Featuring an essay from art dealer Jeffrey Deitch (titled “Non-Popular Pop Art”), a conversation between Banhart and ex-Moldy Peaches member Adam Green, as well as words from Beck, this visually invigorating “idea book” offers a view from Banhart’s two eyes.
